I’ve got to hand it to you. You’re not afraid to bang your head against the wall. My father told me years ago “son you don’t have to do something just because you can”. I have gone through many of the same mental contortions regarding God’s hand or lack of it in certain situations. I finally let it resolve to that statement. He doesn’t have to do something just because He can or I want him to. I’ve prayed fervently for many things throughout my life. Some issues were resolved to some extent, many weren’t. The reasons some weren’t became apparent to me later in certain instances. I’ve stopped questioning. It’s difficult to have conversations about faith with certain people because quite often the “how could God let this happen “ card gets played and there’s really not a hard and fast explanation. That has to come with a maturation of your belief and a continual study of The Word.

Your comment makes sense now, but you need not have worried. The roads may be many, but most of us are looking for the same thing--we simply differ in how we get there. A beautiful essay, Mr. NotFromTexas.
