NOT rallying "The Right"...
The left has declared war on everyone else – whether we admit it, or not.
Unlike the iconic character of Bluto, as portrayed by the late John Belushi in what I believe to be one of the finest films of the last century, this is not a clarion call to my fellow like-minded brothers and sisters to join the struggle against leftist and woke oppression. Not because leftist oppression doesn’t exist (it does), but because there is no organized worldwide struggle to oppose it or even overcome it. To be honest, when engaging with those I consider to be my compatriots, I appreciate the sentiment expressed by Bluto when he rebukes his fraternity brothers for their lack of spirit.
Some of the content in this post will be that which I have posted elsewhere in response either to others’ substacks, or online in other similar forums. Some of it, particularly that which pertains to the damage done by the woke religion and its practitioners and adherents, will sound like a broken record.
I realize that is a phrase that immediately pegs me as a dinosaur as it is a reference to a vinyl grooved disc which, when the needle of a cartridge was placed on the outer edge, reproduced recorded sound and a scratch would often cause said needle to skip back one or two grooves and repeat ad-nauseum what had just been played.
We are at war. The left has declared war – not on the R/right (whatever the hell it is, but more on that, later), but on all who are not of the left, or sympathetic to leftist causes. This is a war not of our choosing, and whether or not we choose to recognize that fact, it is a war on our values, sensibilities, and on all that we hold dear in a society that we once knew, and is rapidly vanishing.
There is nothing even remotely representative of any ethos of western civilisation that is not a target of the left. Whether via political correctness, “social or racial justice,” or wokeness, its mission is to either co-opt and render traditional and standard convention all but meaningless, or destroy it outright and replace and/or remake virtually every institution to serve its ends.
This war is being prosecuted on a number of fronts. We know all too well the havoc being wreaked on primary education in public school districts, and private schools nationwide, how critical thinking and dissent has been all but banished on college campuses, and that some push-back is taking place (more on that later, too) – but these battles are particularly crucial in that victory or defeat in the war hang on their outcomes: gender identity; freedom of speech along with the first amendment; justice (of which due process is the cornerstone); ownership of private property; and the second amendment.
In each of these battles, the most effective tactic is to either co-opt language and re-define its words, and failing that, to render the language completely meaningless in its entirety.
First, A Warning
The phrase, “…you may not care about politics, but politics cares about you.” is absolutely true. The snobbery that possesses one to make declarations like, “I don’t get involved in anything so gauché, so pedestrian as partisan politics…” and others like it may allow those who make such proclamations feel so much better than those of us who do so engage (because we realize what is at stake), but it doesn’t negate the truth of the matter. To those, I say, oh, how so much more enlightened, and intelligent you are for staying above the fray – you’re also that much more cowardly. Just remember, that was the same mindset of Martin Niemöler [1].
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Ignore at your peril those you regard as unworthy of your attention in this struggle – those simplistic conservatives, clinging to their bibles and their 2A rights. Ignore the coming assault on your values, on your lifestyle, on your liberties, and on everything else you hold dear. Fail to stand with us now, and we likely will not be there to stand up for, and defend, you.
“Now, on with the countdown…” (in a manner of speaking)
Let’s dispel one notion: “The R/right” does not exist.
There is no such thing as the R/right. The landscape is such that now there is only the left and its true believers (leftists), and those who are not. We, who are not leftists may want many different things from our government, or our elites, or our institutions, but what we have in common is a desire for some measure of integrity (not perfect virtue), and to be left the hell alone by those who seemingly cannot help themselves with their propensity toward an obsession to rule over others.
The words, ‘conserative' and/or, 'liberal' no longer have any meaning in the abstract – and vis-à-vis partisan politics, only in comparison to each other. Where once these words were useful in describing one’s political orientation, or perhaps gave others the general idea of another’s worldview, they now cease to mean anything in a socio-political context – or any other, for that matter.
As a result, classic liberalism has become today’s libertarianism. Conservatism now connotes an aversion to disrupting a status quo in which traditional Judeo-Christian ethics and values are the default. Since social norms and standards are arbitrary, conservatism, itself, is relative. Hence, Hannah Arendt is prescient in her observation:
The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.
There was once a very wide center occupied by both those of a more liberal bent (measured tolerance of that outside the norm), and those of a more traditional bent (resistant to change that challenged traditional Judeo-Christian ethics), but both possessed a common sense and an aversion to extremes.
However, the left has co-opted classic liberalism, made it over into the woke religion we have today, and is testing the limits of leftist extremism on a daily basis, leaving the center to absorb what was once considered the relatively extreme right (John Birchers, for example). Nothing illustrates this better than the tweet by Elon Musk that earned him the eternal scorn of the very online left.
Similarly, the words 'Democrat,' and 'Republican' are meaningless because both have been exposed as little more than grifters seeking their own ends at the expense of those they allegedly represent.

Instead, they are the Political Class, and they hate the rest of us.
The Political Class hates us so much so that the Uniparty in Washington, D.C. would prefer to do away with elections entirely, while retaining the façade to keep the majority of the great unwashed rabble from growing too restless.
The Assault on the Natural Order via Gender Ideology
There is far too much to include in this piece, and we’ve seen first-hand the strides made by the nefarious forces of darkness to obfuscate the issue, blur the lines, and turn the immutable laws of science vis-à-vis genetics on its head.
I’ll simply remind you that there sits on the Supreme Court of the United States, a justice whose only qualifications are that she checked the right boxes – chief among them is that she either refused or was unable to identify and define what is a woman.
Despite this most demoralizing development, for those of us who, regardless of political ideology or any other disputable matter refuse to abandon scientific as well as spiritual truth for the madness of the trans psychosis, this fight remains our Battle of the Bulge, if this is any indication
“The packed room and high spirits at the event indicates that the pushback against wholesale adoption of gender ideology in Ireland has begun in earnest.”
As the Battered Bastards of Bastogne stopped the advance of Nazi Germany’s armed forces in the Ardennes Forest, our objective must be to stem the advance of gender ideology until a decisive break in our favour can be forced. Ultimately, Man and Woman as created in the image of God, the Creator, will prevail – it’s the political and cultural ramifications of a triumphant gender ideology movement that are at stake, here.
The Assault on Justice
The left is not anti-law-and-order – it’s anti-law-and-order as currently codifed. What it seeks is to re-define law-and-order to re-codify anything and everything that can be construed to be in opposition to, or at a minimum, not completely subservient to the left’s ends. The left seeks to destroy most of the law-and-order apparatus (definition of crime, police and policing, the courts) while preserving just enough for the benefit of law enforcement to accrue to the elite members of society in any given community.
This dovetails nicely with the larger effort to completely eliminate due process. For now, the movement must be content with simply inverting it, where instead of the burden of proof being on the complainant, accuser, or plaintiff (if in municipal, district, or circuit court) to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty of said crime, that burden is now on the accused to prove a negative – that they are not guilty, but the standard is absolute proof, not reasonable doubt.
This is where, courtesy of social media, the court of public opinion reigns supreme.
In the world of woke justice, all that matters is the allegation made, no matter how spurious or absurd. See the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, for an example that has the most far-reaching consequences. As we have seen, the left is all too willing to abolish even the United States Supreme Court, especially when its decisions are not to the liking of any of its proxies.
Of course, congressional Democrats were the envy of every past, current, and future tyrannical despot when they took advantage of the weaponization of the FBI and CIA under the Kenyan Light Bringer’s administrations in arresting and incarcerating the J6 protesters without cause.
In much the same way they used Orwell’s, “1984” as an instruction manual in their coup to remove Trump from office, they used Franz Kafka’s novel, “The Trial” to deny due process to those that were arrested. The real-life presentation made the cinematic adaptation of the novel seem tame, in comparison. That this could happen in America ought to be chilling for anyone who values equal treatment under the law, along with the fifth, sixth, and fourteenth amendments.
There are countless examples of, “serious allegations” all but sealing someone’s fate. Those folks could take a lesson from someone who, if he has any self-awareness, is able to completely ignore it: Bill Clinton. If he had any shame, he would have put the nation before his own prurient self-interest, but instead he brazenly challenged convention, and won. Yes, he had the female members of the media all but falling over themselves to give him cover, but he survived the controversy.
For every non-leftist public figure facing “serious allegations,” or accusations of some woke cardinal sin, I implore you to please find your spine, and emulate Rep. Matt Gaetz, (R-FL):
Declare that not only will you not play their game and resign your post, tell them you couldn’t care less what they allege, you don’t have time for it – and if some higher-up would rather you step aside for the good of the organization because he/she doesn’t have the stomach to manage the negative publicity, make them do the work of proving that there is grounds for your dismissal. I’m looking at you, Mark Adams, you coward!
The Assault on Private Ownership of Property
It is not only the immutable laws of genetic science, and the institutions of equal treatment under the law and due process that are in the left’s crosshairs, though. Private ownership of property is higher on the agenda than most realize.
Trump warned us about this well before the election of 2020, and we can see it coming to fruition, here. Any kind of attempt to effectively outlaw private home ownership would never fly, but an indirect attack like this one
The Biden administration and Democrats in New York, Connecticut and other states are warring on local zoning laws to build high-rise apartment buildings with ‘affordable’ units in tree-lined, single-family neighborhoods. All in the name of equity, meaning everyone can live in a tranquil suburb, whether they’ve earned the money to pay for it or not.
The Biden administration announced Jan. 19 it will require all towns across America to submit “equity plans” showing how they will make it possible for low-income people to live there, by providing affordable housing, transportation and other resources.
Towns that don’t meet the cookie-cutter requirement for economic diversity will lose federal funding.
…seems to be working, unfortunately.
“Towns that don’t meet the cookie-cutter requirement for economic diversity will lose federal funding.” Perhaps I’m missing something, but if a community is no longer receiving federal funding, it’s no longer required to pay fealty to the bureaucrats in charge, no? If true, then I’m thinking that’s a win – imagine the wages that a municipality saves not having to pay some urban-studies grad student to write the application for the grant demonstrating compliance with the regulation.
The Assault on Free Speech and the First Amendment
I’ll let the two reports speak for themselves. This one is from, Reason
But it wasn't just tone-deaf personal attacks. The Democrats also expressed a profound disinterest in social media censorship, bordering on furtive support. Rep. Dan Goldman (D–N.Y.) asserted that the Twitter Files had not produced a single genuine example of government censoring lawful speech. Jordan cut in and provided just such an example: the White House flagging a tweet from Robert Kennedy Jr. about vaccines for deletion. Goldman troublingly suggested—without actually reading the tweet in question—that perhaps it wasn't lawful.
It is disappointing that congressional Democrats are taking little interest in the weaponization of the federal government against Americans' speech rights; on the contrary, they think the weapon needs sharpening.
…and this one, from FoxNews
This is a wake-up moment in which Democrats made plain that they view censorship of journalism as not only a good thing, but necessary to protect us all from foreign election interference, or racism, or climate-change denial. First Amendment be damned, free speech thrown under the bus to ‘protect’ us from these alleged emergencies.
Somewhere in Hell, Maxim Litvinov, and Erich Honecker are laughing uproariously.
The Assault on the Second Amendment
This was a phrase often found on stickers on the rear bumpers of Volvos, and popular with the more militant liberals of the 1980s and into the 1990s. It fell out of favour once the shoe was on the other foot and the more politically conservative adopted its message and meaning.
Most everyone knows that Democrats and the left (but I repeat myself) abandoned the legislative process in favour of administrative and judicial fiat shortly after SCOTUS’ Roe v Wade decision in 1973. Even if it hadn’t written off legislatively neutering the second amendment, the left knows that its prospects of achieving its objective were slim, at best – no matter how many school shootings it had to facilitate.
What the left and the woke cannot achieve legitimately and directly, it will seek to do through indirect means, like this:
The Alliance For Consumers (AFC), a nonprofit organization aimed at ‘ensuring consumer protection efforts, class action lawsuits, and attorney general enforcement actions benefit consumers,’ sent a letter to all GOP governors Friday saying that since the many state legislatures have recently flipped to a Republican majority, they should be on the lookout for progressive activists attacking gun rights through these legal actions.
‘With victories through the legislative process becoming harder to achieve, the progressive left is increasingly looking to an alliance of activists, officials, and trial lawyers to weaponize the judicial system against conservatives and impose key policy priorities by way of public nuisance lawsuits,’ AFC president O.H. Skinner wrote.
Victory
Unfortunately, the left will not stop – ever. It will never surrender, never admit defeat – neither should we.
So, what does victory look like in a war such as this? Unlike the conventional warfare of WWII, where victory and defeat are clearly defined per General Douglas MacArthur
The history of failure in war can almost be summed up in two words: Too late. Too late in comprehending the deadly purpose of a potential enemy. Too late in realizing the mortal danger.
In this war, victory is a stalemate. Strange, isn’t it, that containment, the foundation upon which The Truman Doctrine was constructed and what proved to be a failed strategy of the Cold War, is a winning strategy in a cultural war like this one.
In comments made in response to a post on, “And So It Goes,” I made the observation that we, the people who really want nothing more than to be left the hell alone
…have been and continue to be at a distinct and significant disadvantage because whatever its own faults may be, the left is a movement – it has an agenda. Those of us who are not leftists are not inclined to organize and launch a countermovement. Even if the concepts of freedom, the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness don't lend themselves to being reduced to agenda items, we had better figure out how to do it, anyway.
We tend to recoil at the prospect of becoming authoritarian in pursuit of our ends, but it is necessary, and the sooner we get beyond that discomfort, the better. The phrase, ‘...the end justifies the means...’ means nothing in the abstract. It also has a negative connotation with most fairness-minded folks, but again, we need to get over that. If we need to be every bit as authoritarian in advancing the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as the left is in its mission to destroy the same, so be it.
Stopping the advance of the woke agenda gives rise to the opportunity to roll back its gains, but that only happens if each and every one of us engages and pushes back on the left’s lunacy at every opportunity. It has been happening, and continues to happen in the most unexpected places. The media will not cover it because it flies in the face of its narrative, but there is hope:
There are signs that a backlash to gender ideology is building elsewhere, too. In February, when Donna Hughes, a professor of women’s studies at Rhode Island University, published an article critical of gender ideology, petitions sprouted calling for her to be fired. Her university denounced her and warned that the right to free speech was ‘not boundless’. Ms Hughes, who is a co-founder of the Academic Freedom Alliance (AFA), which was launched in March, says her university encouraged students to file complaints. She hired an ‘aggressive’ lawyer. In May the afa announced the university had dropped its investigations into Ms Hughes and affirmed her right to speak.
…and again, in the world of professional hockey, of all places:
This, just a little more than a month after the New York Rangers did the same, which I mentioned here:
…on Friday, January 27, 2023, the entire New York Rangers team ditched the rainbow-themed sweaters in a collective repudiation of the expected genuflection to the entire LGBTQWXYZ syndicate.
…following the example of Ivan Provorov, which I also mentioned here:
On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, one Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov refused to wear the prescribed ‘pride’ sweater to genuflect to the rainbow authoritarians in honour of the team’s observance of Pride Night
I’d love to channel the optimism of The Happy Warrior, the late Rush Limbaugh
and declare that we are winning. I’d really like to believe it with conviction, and not because the alternative is surrender – but for now, that will have to do.
Thank you, dear reader, for your indulgence.
I commented recently, somewhere else, that "the internet was a mistake and we need to nuke it from orbit just to be sure it's destroyed." I don't really believe that about THE INTERNET, but I do believe it about social media, with it's rage scrolling and weaponization of mental health disorders, and the driving of engagement by any means necessary, mostly with hate and disgust.
(There was an article that dropped today on The Free Press about adolescent mental health that I think is prescient. https://www.thefp.com/p/why-the-mental-health-of-liberal But I digress)
You are onto a lot of very good points, and I find myself in solid agreement. The thing is, this vanguard of the Maoist moment we are in is being driven by The Very Online and The Institutions. The Very Online make up, as a percentage of the population in general, fewer than those who believe in a flat earth or that birds aren't real. The Institutions, that's a different problem. They should be the backstop to all this, and they aren't. We see how they are so quickly destroying all the guardrails in society with out asking why, and they end up taking their cues from The Very Online. We have the terminally stupid leading the willfully ignorant in a downward Overton spiral of malignant narcissism and carelessness.
I see two ways this ends: one peaceful, the other not so much. But end it will, because things that can not continue won't.
The peaceful solution says "look, we got two parts of this country that just can not get along and we need to split up." But you saw the absolute outrage when a National Divorce was mentioned a bit ago. It didn't help the messenger, MTG, was the absolute worse. But the left shot that down immediately because they really, really, REALLY want to rule us. They aim to rule us, and they will not settle for less.
That leaves Plan B. Many of us who will just take it and take it and take it... right up till we refuses to take it anymore. Trust me, lefties, you don't want that smoke when the moment comes.
I believe a tipping point is coming. I don't know what it will be or when, but when it comes it will be an absolute game changer.
I tell people whom I work with that "everything's great till it's not." That's what's going on now. The Corporate D/R Uniparty (presented by Pfizer) sees everyting as OK. Their vocal supporters, their base, and The Media thinks things are going in the right direction. They don't see the problems that people at the street level see. They will be shocked when things get turned upside down. But I thinkt that's what we need.
Thanks for letting me rant on this ...
Due to some past click on my phone I might be inadvertently stalking Lillia’s comments. Sorry Lillia (and don’t worry I’m not weird) but damn, you and here are a series of kindred spirits.
Don’t know if searching is possible on substack but you would see I deeply don’t want to give disrespect to individuals who are grown up and want to be lgbtq. But.. you would also see I am not into the woke hive mind.
There’s some group of people who can be cool, compassionate, but also real.
I think being collective would have value.
I don’t know which substack that is.
